A true comic book legend whose career has spanned the Golden Age of comics until today, Gene's career in comics began in 1944 at Fiction House and he hasn't stopped since. He worked for Timely / Marvel in the 40's - 50's where his work included Menace, Mystic and Journey into Mystery, before heading off to DC Comics  for a while to do Sea Devils and Hopalong Cassidy. Returning to Marvel Comics in the 60s, Gene worked on Iron Man, Daredevil, Silver Surfer, Sub-Mariner, Captain America and Dr. Strange. Especially notable were his long runs on Tomb of Dracula (with Marv Wolfman) and Daredevil and his incredible collaboration with Steve Gerber on Howard the Duck. In the 80s, Gene did some more work over at DC including Detective Comics, Night Force (again with Marv Wolfman) and Nathaniel Dusk. In recent years Gene returned to Daredevil for a short stint and did the art for the Curse of Dracula mini-series (with Wolfman) over at Dark Horse. He also did the art chores on graphic novels to accompany the motion pictures Aliens & Predator.

bands
If you would like your band to be considered to play, Email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with your website or myspace page. Somewhere we can hear your music.  Please include any information you think we may need with your email. Or mail your press kit/CD to us at: Florida Supercon, Attn: Band Submissions, PO Box 4012, Fort Lauderdale, FL. 33338

There are a limited amount of slots available, so the earlier you are able to send a submission request, the better. The time of your performance will be determined by Florida Supercon management.

Each band chosen to play will receive a merchandise table in the main convention area for the entire weekend. The merchandise table gives each band the opportunity to sell their band related merchandise and promote their band over the course of the entire weekend. This is a chance for your band to make money and get the word out about your band.

Each performing member of your band will receive (1) weekend pass plus you will be given (2) additional badges for crew. For example, if you have a four piece band, you are eligible to receive (6) weekend passes. Band members consist of legitimate musicians necessary to the performance. We're sorry, but stage dancers, entourage members, etc... do not qualify for these badges. Your band has the potential to be seen and heard by thousands of attendees at Supercon!
